Institute of General Semantics

This was a site redesign for a not-for-profit organization with seventy years of history. The extensive site includes videos, forums, abundant content about the organization and general semantics, an online store, and multiple ways to donate.

Key elements of this redesign included a complete reorganization of the material to make it more accessible, more emphasis on donations and the store, a much more professional/modern look and feel, and an emphasis that this was a site for a not-for-profit organization.

This was the first site for a small interior design firm, emphasizing their portfolio and consistency in design.

For this particular site, the firm had a very strong idea of the design from the start, and we worked closely with them to achieve their vision. The gallery page is one of our favorite features with a neat wrap around effect. The design has no flash, but sports flash-like functionality, therefore making it accessible to an even wider array of browsers.

Queens Community House

Queens Community House is a non-profit, community based organization with programs ranging from pre-K to older adults.

Their existing site was based upon Joomla 1.0, and needed to be upgraded to Joomla 1.5. The challenge was to keep the exact design, but add in new features such as dropdown menus, a calendar, rotating photos on the home page, and easier to update news modules. In addition, the site was thoroughly updated from a Search Engine Optimization perspective, with new headlines, titles, page names, meta tags, inbound links, and XML sitemaps to make it much more visible to search engines. This has resulted in a marked increase in their search engine rankings and corresponding traffic.

Ayrsley Town Rehabilitation (ATR) provides performance-enhancing, preventative and rehabilitative programs and services that maximize functionality and promote well-being in patients of all ages and abilities.

OldGold4Cash

OldGold4Cash is a new site for a family based refinery doing business for over forty years in New York City's Diamond District.

Visually rich with custom logos, search engine optimized content, and a bundle of functionality, the site is meant to convey security in uncertain economic times and a message that your old jewelry could be worth more than when you purchased it due to today's relatively higher precious metal prices.

Bamboo Moves Yoga

Bamboo Moves Yoga is a yoga studio that has just recently expanded to its second location.

Their original web site was created in Flash, and while the owners were generally happy with the look and feel of the site, they were frustrated by the fact that the site was extremely difficult to update, and it was a virtual nightmare to perform what they thought should be relatively simple changes such as adding new pages, or changing the text of a menu item. The new site has an integrated content management system, and maintains the look of the original site with none of the drawbacks.

NatureOnly Products

NatureOnly sells a line of products made with only natural ingredients.

Stylistically, this site was intended to convey a soft, Garden of Eden feeling. The primary product is a diaper rash cream. The site tells a visually viceral story.

Paradox Smoke Productions

Paradox Smoke Productions is a small film production company responsible for the Academy Award nominated short "Salim Baba" as well as the independent films "Screen Door Jesus" and "Welcome To Academia."

This site, with its understated design, show that sparse design can be extraordinarily effective.

Prehab

The Prehab Network is a network of specialized physical therapy clinics specializing in prehab, a practice of therapy that helps shorten significantly rehabilitation from surgery and sports related injuries as well as prevent those injuries in the first place.

The original site was very difficult to maintain and had problems displaying correctly in various browsers. It was also based on an early version of Joomla. The new site not only addressed these issues, but also created a mini-site for the first prehab clinic, Eastside Rehab, contained entirely within the parent site and the same content management system.

JB Art and Design

This is the web site for interior designer Julius Babilonia.

Newly striking out on his own, Julius Babilonia wanted to have a site showcasing his extensive portfolio of work. The site is 100% Flash and is intended to be shown in conjuction with a client consultation. Even though the site is in Flash, pictures and galleries are able to be updated just by modifying a few text files.

Teacup Pup Puppies

This is the first site for Teacup Pup Puppies, a community puppy store.

Fun and approachable, this smaller site features some useful background information on puppies, the store, and the veternarian clinics with whom the store has partnered.

G. P. Fuchs Real Estate Auctions

G. P. Fuchs arranges and sets up real estate auctions for select properties.

With additional content visible to only registered users, this site educates both buyers and sellers about the advantages and disadvantages of real estate auctions as well as the process. The site displays a large amount of content in a well organized fashion across multiple menus.

Energy Profit Sharing

Energy Profit Sharing promotes the alternative energy supplier company (ESCO) Ambit.

Emphasizing the rising cost of gas and electricity, this site through videos and presentations explains the opportunity for individuals to become sales consultants for Ambit and in the process dramatically lower their own energy costs.

Memorial Granite

Memorial Granite is a wholesale supplier of granite memorials.

Rather than a retail audience, this site (the first one for this family owned business) addresses a network of dealers. The owner wanted to emphasize the wholesale aspect to make sure that was unambiguous.

Your Passport to God

This is the web site of author Richard Brown.

The web site promotes his book, I Know God and I Know the Devil.

Austin Optics

Austin Optics is a fixture in Forest Hills, Queens for over 30 years.

This is the first web site for this local business. The site concentrates on the basic requirements of a small local business: background, staff, hours, location and directions.

EZSellGold

EZSellGold is a family refinery based for over thirty years in New York City's Diamond District opening their first web site.

The site hosts a wide range of functionaliy intended to simplify the gold selling process to clients. Clients are even able to generate their own FedEx labels for shipping their jewelry to EZSellGold.

National Modification Service

This was a site redesign for a loan modification firm from a generic site they originally had to an original design.

The redesign focused on capturing the spirit of the organization, which is community based. We created the image on the home page from stock photography, and devised the tagline. There are extensive online applications.

Rasha Gallery

Rasha Gallery displays a private art collection of the artist Rasha Radenkovich.

The site is meant to convey a subtle impression of the art work, positioning it within its historical context, and discreetly indicating that the artwork is available for purchase. The site is designed to be an online gallery, giving users the ability to view finer details on the pieces by clicking on each one for a larger view.

Robotiks Invest

Robotiks Invest is the private site of inventor Ti Kao established to solicit venture capital for his patents.

Set up to provide a summary of Ti Kao's research and patents for investors, this web site had to be simple and to the point. It reduces a complex idea to a simple explanation.

SysTEKS Consulting

This is the first web site for the small firm of SysTEKS Consulting.

The site lists the services and prices for the firm. The firm offers break/fix computer services as well as sells computer-related products.

NY Empire Medical

This web site is for the medical offices of NY Empire Medical.

Simple and to the point, the site list the doctors, staff, services, hours, and location of the medical offices.

Barry Greenblatt

This web site is for actor Barry Greenblatt.

Part portfolio, part autobiographical, the site lays out the various sides of the actor making him more three-dimensional in the process.

Lifetime Vinyl Siding

Lifetime Vinyl Siding is a vinyl siding installer in New York City and on Long Island.

This is the first site for the firm, which has been in business over 45 years. Mostly pictorial, the site conveys the longevity of the business and the longevity of their installations.

JS Home Decor

JS Home Decor is a new venture selling hand sewn pillows and towels. Recently the site also features tarot readings and dream interpretations.

The site is set up to take orders through PayPal. Although relatively small, the site does offer dozens of products.
